While our HDMI cable can be used to connect your laptop to the in-room TV, we recommend using it to connect your TV directly to the Meeting Owl 5 Pro in order to leverage their HDMI Passthrough capability.

HDMI Passthrough occurs when a device can send video from a source, like a laptop, directly through to the in-room display without processing or changing it. The Meeting Owl 5 Pro’s HDMI Passthrough capability allows them to act as a bridge between a laptop and the in-room display during meetings, providing reliable audio, video, and content sharing using only a single cable connection to the Owl.

HDMI passthrough creates a more seamless, simple meeting start experience for end users in a BYOD meeting room setup. Rather than fiddling with multiple cable connections to get ready for their meeting, the end user can simply bring their laptop to the room, plug the Meeting Owl 5 Pro's USB-C cable into their laptop, and they'll receive reliable meeting audio, video, and content sharing to the in-room display.
