Connecting your new Meeting Owl and Expansion Mic is simple: 1. Remove the Expansion Port cover from your Meeting Owl. This is typically found toward the base of the Owl, below the Volume - / + buttons.

2. Connect your Expansion Mic by plugging its custom cable into the Expansion Ports on both the Meeting Owl and the mic itself.

3. Place the Expansion Mic at least 6 ft (1.5 m) away from your Meeting Owl, with the cable-side pointing toward the Owl.

Success! The Meeting Owl will automatically begin using the Expansion Mic as an extension of its audio system. See the full setup guide >> 

The Expansion Mic has a pickup range of 8 ft (2.5 m) in the direction of the mic, increasing the Owl’s total audio pickup range to 26 ft (8 m).

Paired Meeting Owls can each connect to an Expansion Mic to cover large meeting spaces, resulting in a maximum audio pickup range of 60 ft (18 m) from end to end.

No, you cannot switch out the Expansion Mic’s cable with any 3rd party cable. Why not?

After setting up your Expansion Mic, you can easily check its connection to the Meeting Owl by either of the following:

-Mute Button: Press the Mute button on top of the Expansion Mic. The Meeting Owl’s Mute LED will light up red or turn off to match the Mute state of the Expansion Mic.

-Speaker Chime: Gently unplug the Expansion Mic’s cable and plug it back in. You’ll hear a short chime from your Meeting Owl’s speaker when the connection is broken and when it is reconnected.
